True Summer
True Summer is a cool, light breeze on a chilly pebbled beach at sunset. Steel, dove grey, charcoal, lemon-yellows, light rose, raspberry and oyster are all live comfortably here. Lighter in value than its cool Winter Season, True Summers are light, cool and lower contrast.

True Summer People
Delicate, fresh, cool. True Summers are at home in softer textures and lower contrasting palettes. A steel grey suit with a soft white blouse and silver necklace for neutrals or cool lavender cigarette pants with a lemon yellow top and dusty mauve lip. True Summers get to enjoy summer in their wardrobe every day.

The Vibe
The cool and 'dusky' looking hues on this palette are sophisticated and understated - but that doesn't mean they're not powerful. These colors allow the actual True Summer person, to shine. This palette stretches well beyond grey - greens, purples, pinks, taupes, yellows feature here - just make sure the colors you choose are purely cool (no oranges here) and are are medium value and chroma.

The Drapes
I drape clients in a red, blue, green and yellow from each Season, and the True Seasons also have a neutral. I also have luxury drapes to show the beauty of the Season and some metallics too. Learn more about the draping process.

The Palette
These beautiful color palettes, carefully curated by NDU colors, aren't comprehensive - there are thousands of colors that the human eye can see, but they are meant to show the range of dark to light and chroma that the Season can wear. We shouldn't be color 'matching' to squares when shopping, but trying to get the right overall color vibe and properties.

True Summer Celebrities
Suspected True Summer celebrities include Olivia Wilde, Emily Blunt, Joey King and Emily Deschanel amongst others.

Jewelry & Accessories
Yellow gold is not your friend. True Summers can get away with white gold but naturally gel with all things silver, platinum or nickel. True Summers have a delicacy to their coloring, which is harmonious if mimicked in jewelry in terms of smaller sizes and smoother textures. Pink tourmaline, cool amethyst, aquamarine, white or grey pearls, diamonds and softer sapphires will all look stunning on you.

Makeup
True Summers have a fresh, understated look - your lip and blush colors should be blue-based pinks, mauves and plums to retain the coolness. Matte or some shimmer are complimentary but avoid high shine, high contrast, hard lines and very bright or warm tones. I like The Concept Wardrobe's recommendations for makeup for each Season.
