Light Summer
Light Summer conjures images of sunny days at the beach, candy, summer flowers, slices of watermelon. It's fresh, bright, vibrant yet tranquil. Light Summer is the lightest of the Summer Seasons and contains a lot of white within its hues.

Light Summer People
Light Summer people have cool undertones, typically lower contrast and they need lightness and fresh colors. They are influenced by Spring, so can tolerate some warmth. Dark colors like black will appear too heavy and weighty on them.

The Vibe
Light Summer is more than pastel. The palette can appear more saturated, or 'brighter' than it is, due to the high white content mixed in. Light Summers need freshness, some delicacy and need to primarily avoid earthy warmth and darkness. Aquas, lemonade yellows, rose pink, raspberry reds, lavender and light aquas will feature heavily in a Light Summer wardrobe.

The Drapes
I drape clients in a red, blue, green and yellow from each Season, and the True Seasons also have a neutral. I also have luxury drapes to show the beauty of the Season and some metallics too. Learn more about the draping process.

The Palette
These beautiful color palettes, carefully curated by NDU colors, aren't comprehensive - there are thousands of colors that the human eye can see, but they are meant to show the range of dark to light and chroma that the Season can wear. We shouldn't be color 'matching' to squares when shopping, but trying to get the right overall color vibe and properties.

Celebrities
Suspected Light Summer celebrities include Gwyneth Paltrow, Robin Wright, Naomi Watts, Kirsten Dunst and Reese Witherspoon amongst others.

Jewelry & Accessories
Light Summers are at their best in silver, platinum and can pull off some white gold or pink rose gold. Light Summers need cool, luminous, elegant or frosted pieces with some delicate detailing like engravings or patterning. Larimar, lighter amethyst, soft topaz, quartz, opal and pearl look great.

Makeup
Light Summers need lightness and coolness, including in their makeup. Lipsticks should be matte and pink-based and eye shadow should lean into sheer neutrals and blue, turquoises and purple. I like The Concept Wardrobe's recommendations for makeup for each Season.

Deep Dive
I am a huge fan of Christina Scaman of 12 blueprints, who has a great deep dive video on jewel tones for Light Summers.
